I work with an emerging non-profit that was looking to move to the next level and our partnership with Bonterra Guided Fundraising and Network 4 Good has accelerated that growth tremendously. The platform has enabled us to not only communicate with our donors and supporters but to build stronger relationships with them. The tools for building giving pages and communication are robust and have helped us better understand where our support is coming from and where we need to work harder to better engage certain groups of donors. We have been impressed with the quality of the design options the platform affords us and how easy it's been to navigate the system. It's intuitive and very easy to use. But in the few instances where we've needed help, there were multiple options for help that we accessed quickly and easily. We did a lot of due diligence before choosing Bonterra and we have been extremely happy with our decision. If you are a nonprofit ripe for growth, this platform will help you blossom.
  • Tracking giving
  • Building relationships with donors
  • Intuitive communications creation
  • Would like clearer direction for how to handle opt outs from email
  • Would like options to have people opt out of "types" of email rather than email in general
  • Would love info on where and how to get grants
Bonterra Guided Fundraising is ideal for a small to midsized nonprofit ready to transition from a founders/first gen stage to the "next level" that includes managing and building stonger relationships with donors.

I am able to send blast e-mails out to all of our donors with our online donation link so that I can continue to raise revenue to run our missions. As the person responsible for fundraising, I use the system to track donations and look up individual contacts. Our Administrative Consultant continually updates donations and sends out acknowledgement letters. She creates a donation report that I present to the Board by donor category. I create a new online campaign every fall and all fiscal year that is the link that I send out to raise funds.
  • Ability to create an online campaign
  • Email blasts to donors
  • Tracking of progress with the dashboard
  • Sometimes when creating an e-mail blast the bar that pops up with features is in the way of the content I am creating and it's hard to get it move out of the way.
It's user friendly and easy to create online campaigns and e-mail blasts.

The way we use the platform:
We create our event pages, utilize the email blasts, add and manage all our donors, and create reports. It is straightforward to make our emails and event pages.
Some of the problems we have encountered:
Some have to do with reporting; it is confusing. You can't create a tax letter with all the donations of the year in a simple way. Whenever you have to delete a ticket holder and make a donor, it creates a lot of confusion and problems. The font size and format are not very user-friendly whenever we create a page.
  • General creation of event pages
  • General creation of blast emails
  • Adding and editing donors
  • Reporting
  • Event page - fonts and fields
  • Groups and filters
Well suited for a small-medium non-profit.
Less suited for more prominent non-profits.

I am blessed to have two separate Bonterra Fundraising accounts. In both of the organizations, Ghanaian Mothers' Hope, and The Giving Challenge, the set up in Bonterra has made it easy to share my cause, educating children in Africa, and allowing donors to donate. I have used the events module, peer to peer fundraising, as well as donor data base, email blasts and the reporting functions are amazing.
  • Year End Closing guidelines
  • Event Fundraising options and guidelines
  • Reports on every aspect of your data
  • Easy to use email blasts
  • Faster response for questions
  • On line raffle function
  • A cheaper auction function for small nonprofits
Bonterra is a great option for Guided Fundraising for mid-level nonprofits looking for a full function system including donor data base as well as fundraising. For nonprofits who are at the upper range of being a small nonprofit, taking the risk and using this system could bump them to the next level.

For small nonprofits, the cost is prohibited. The function is great but any nonprofit with less than $75-100K cannot afford this system

I am a new customer to the system from Network For Good, but I believe the transition to me being comfortable went very smoothly.<br>I want to be able to send emails to lapse donors without the system making me go to private email.
  • I can talk to my current donors monthly, or weekly. The software makes it possible.
  • I can upload pictures that tell the stories
  • I can ask techs questions and they reponse
  • I would like to send emails to lapse donors, and the present system slows me down
I believe the system works well for speaking to current donors, and I would like the system to be improved to go after many nonprofits' lapsed donors.

The Guided Fundraising software allows us to communicate directly with all donors and major stakeholders in our organization in an efficient and professional manner. We are able to provide updates on current programs and share good news on a regular basis with the easy to use email and direct mail functions in the software. In addition, the financial reports provided help us keep track of the effectiveness of our communications!
  • Easy to customize email/newsletter formats
  • Financial donor data is helpful
  • The ability to send a thank you to a donor directly from the "giving" acknowledgment is fantastic.
  • It would be nice to receive the donations in the same month that they are made. At the present time, you have to wait until the 15th of the following month.
  • The peer to peer fundraising options are a little clunky
  • Using Donate Now function to receive disbursement information is clunky
Very appropriate for receiving quick donation information and responding to the donors in an easy and efficient manner. The email and direct mailing capabilities are so nice.

Network for Good was what we needed as it combines several different services in one easy-to-use platform, including donation management and email marketing. However, the change over to Bonterra has not been great. The customer service has gone down and they've changed terms regarding our contract, without our approval or signature. Overall, I am very unhappy with Bonterra and won't be renewing with them.
  • Customer/donor management
  • Training is too drawn out
  • More information on the details of transferring existing contact information
  • Customer service is slow and poorly done.
Bonterra has taken a decent platform and completely destroyed it. It is not suited for any nonprofit as it is expensive and they don't treat their clients with respect. They sell your information and refuse to assist when issues arise.

I use Bonterra to manage all of our fundraising efforts. I am able to have all things in one place, and able to manage all things simultaneously. The platform is easy to use and I am able to get in, do what I need to do, and get out. I am glad we are using Bonterra to run all of our fundraising efforts.
  • It helps to manage all donors
  • We are able to acknowledge all donors
  • We are able to keep track of all money being raised
  • Be more communicative to users outside of just letting us know about donations recieved
  • Provide more detailed workshops on specific services
  • Provide an email summary of monthly activity, including donations, acknowledgements, etcetera.

We are using Bonterra to help with organizing our Fundraising campaigns, maintain records of our volunteers and donors, and run analytics on giving. The platform has reduced using excel and other cumbersome programs. Bonterra has allowed our nonprofit to become more efficient with the data and output of what we are doing.
  • collate information
  • quick analysis of donor information
  • fundraising platform
  • quick customer service
  • ways to contact donors if they do not have an email address
  • importing contacts be cumbersome if not formatted right
  • N/A
I believe that when I have a question customer support is always there to help me. I am computer database literate but feel that someone who may not be tech-savvy can navigate this system well. Additionally, the reports the program generates is always quality and it can be customized to suit the needs of the customer.

We currently work with over 500 donors, 200 clients, and 100 volunteers. NFG has been a lifesaver in keeping track of all of our information and also getting information out. I am constantly learning new ways to use NFG, and realizing how many resources it offers wrapped up in one program. It is so nice having everything in one place.
  • creating mass emails, texts, newsletters
  • keeping track of donor status, donations
  • creating ticketed fundraisers
  • More webinars on using NFG effectively
The only reason I gave it a 9 is because I need all the webinars I can get!

We currently use Network For Good daily. We use it for donor/donation tracking, record keeping, and for creating thank yous. Overall, we have not come across any problems in using this system. One thing that would be helpful to me would be the ability to save a document in a donor record.
  • Donor Management Tracking
  • Filters for lists
  • Contact Info
  • Notes Section
  • Email Marketing Campaign Layout SImplified
  • Work profiles on contacts
Network for Good has been incredibly rewarding for us in the past year. Personally, I think its the best CRM available for a non-profit like us. Other systems I have used like SalesForce seem to be a step down in quality. The notes section in Network for Good would be my biggest issue as it seems very basic to use for conversation tracking amongst donors.

We use Network for Good the donate location on our web page and to track all those donations. Then after the donations it will generate a thank you letter for the donation. So, we know where all of our donations come from for tax purposes. We also us Network for Good as a communication tool for all of donors and sponsors. We use the email communication to keep up our base to date of all of our fundraising events. We, also use the email communication for a quarterly newsletter that we send out to everyone. The other thing we use it for is our direct mail thank you letters for all our sponsors and organizations that sponsor or donate items to our fundraising events. We also use the giving page to create fundraising campaigns during the year. It has made it so easy to keep track of all of our donors and followers. We have the database in one place, and we can send out mass emails and direct emails instantly and keeping track of all of our donations for tax purposes. A great time saver!!!!
  • Donation Tracking
  • Mass Email campaigns
  • Direct Mail campaigns
  • Thank you Letters.
  • Fundraising Campaigns
  • Being able to print out email campaign. letter.
Just the database that you have at our hands and can send out info to them instantly..

Network for Good makes it easy for us to have an ongoing fundraising campaign as well as a specific campaign for a project. Creating a giving page & sending it out to donors can all be done within minutes. There was a Zoom group training (recorded so you can go back to it) to show us how to create a page, plus our fundraising coach walked us through it while we created our first page. User-friendly!

With Network for Good, you can track group communication & see the statistics, for example, of emails delivered, opened or deleted. You can resend an email to only those who didn’t open it the first time.

It makes it much easier to communicate with our donors with options to text, email, text a video, find an address for a letter. It’s all in one place. Mahalo NUI to Network for Good & our Coach John Gilchrist!
  • Fundraising coaching
  • Options to communicate w/donors
  • Tracking giving & communication for individual donors
  • Connecting household members
We are a small non-profit organization (2 full-time staff & 2 part-time staff) & the price point to purchase Network for Good was what we could afford for the number of donors/volunteers that we needed to manage.

We didn’t need a huge system, but something that could track over a thousand donors/volunteers with room for more & also is user-friendly.
It would have been amazing to have this product from day one of our organization!

We use Network for Good daily at First Call For Help. Whether it be inputting data for the donations we receive through the mail, checking our online donations, and to reference when writing thank you cards to our donors. Our Monday Minute is a newsletter we send out on, you guessed it, Mondays, and we email it to all of our contacts through Network For Good. The convenience of donations tracked in one place solves our problem of needing to figure donor totals at the end of the year for tax purposes.
  • Campaign totals
  • Tracks donors
  • Reporting
  • Communication with donors
  • I know there are areas in Network for Good we don't use at our Non-profit and there may be areas that can improve, but the resources we utilize are easy enough to follow.
First Call For Help holds 2 different fundraising Campaigns each year, a Spring and a Holiday Mail event. Network for Good has been great to collect the donations and report how the campaign is progressing. It tracks our donors and shows how their giving compares year to year which is helpful. When donors are falling behind or no longer giving, this tells us we need to communicate better with them by encouraging different ways donors may choose to become more involved in our organization and support our mission again.

I utilize Network For Good as our Donor Data Base. Here, I record all donations and generate acknowledgments. I can easily create themed acknowledgments for all kinds of donation scenarios including, every day giving donors, recurring donors, event donors, direct mail donors, and ticket purchasers. I utilize the campaign/designation categories so that I know where every donation is from and going. This makes for easy sorts to pull up information for analytics. I use communications to create monthly e-blasts and special email reminders. I also create forms for individuals to sign up for groups, training, events, and volunteering.
  • NFG eliminates the need for other systems to handle monthly emails or newsletters.
  • Designations feature works perfectly for our needs.
  • Donors' ability to create passwords and log in to manage their credit card information or review donations is appreciated.
  • Monthly donations are supported.
  • User-friendly forms and the ability to include videos.
  • Excellent communication and support.
  • For the default footer in acknowledgments, the phone number is not included and we are unable to add the phone number.
  • In My Tasks, the order of tasks changes every time I delete a task. It would be helpful if they stayed in the order I entered them so I could find the task I am looking for easier.
  • When I view a sent email, there is an option to resend it, BUT I cannot edit the email before I resend.
  • It is great to be able to schedule email blasts to a group of people. But I would like to be able to send an acknowledgment to a first time donor and then schedule a "new donor welcome email" to go out to this individual donor at a later date.
Network for Good works really well for us as a smaller nonprofit. Personalization is a key feature I love (although it would become challenging with a large number of donors because there is no batch acknowledgment feature). I use the Communication tab to create acknowledgment emails that are specific to each campaign donation. I am able to personalize these with an edit feature before I send them off to the donor. I can easily see the donor's contact page to note if this is a new donor, current donor, or lapsed donor and personalize accordingly. On the donor's contact page, I can see if they have received and opened emails which help me decide if a written acknowledgment would be better going forward. I appreciate that Network for Good eliminates the need for other systems to handle monthly emails or newsletters, campaigns, and event registration.

We use it increasingly now for donor appeals, event planning/management/evaluations; strategic automated communications; building support networks; event and Campaign websites. Year-end report data generation, categorizing donors, etc. The program provides systems necessary for easily accessible back office support. We experienced a learning curve initially, however the readily available tutorials, and customer support services have made it possible to move beyond that initial roadblock.
  • Tracks and classifies donor participation
  • Provides communication templates
  • Responds quickly to requests for assistance
  • Networks with other nonprofits
  • Provides multiple services in one site
  • Serves as a donor platform- acknowledges receipt of donations
  • Serves as a repository of important 990 information re; donor appeals. Etc.
  • Provides mechanism for immediate feedback to and from attendees at events
  • Sometimes the site feels too busy on the administrator - there is a lot to track. Requires serious attention from the site administrator
  • It would be helpful to interface all contacts even from other programs with our network for Good Platform automatically.
  • I would make direct deposit the automatic default for receipt of funds
Best suited for donor appeals/communication/follow-ups.
Great comprehensive event planning site - bringing a suite of online support services and pre/post event follow-ups. We used it most recently for out annual program gala and age now in the process of using it to weave the gala seamlessly into our ongoing project and program avyibotird.

Network for Good has allowed our small non-profit the ability to consolidate many of the tasks we perform on a daily basis into one platform and with great ease. Having this consolidated platform has streamlined many things that use to take many steps to complete so that we are more efficient with our time and able to dedicate more time to those we serve.
  • Timely Communication
  • Helpful Customer Service
  • Friendly Staff
  • Adding more functions to use besides for fundraising
  • Creating email blasts from scratch
We have had to reach out for assistance many times for different tasks and communication has been very timely and helpful. Never once have we had to ask the same question because the answers have always addressed our needs.

After years of trying to force-fit donor management into an application primarily designed for document management, we came across Network For Good and were impressed by the breadth of functionality it offered: database management, communication, campaign management and tracking, and event management (including ticketing and auctions).
  • Top-notch customer service! The Network For Good team is responsive, genuinely courteous, and knowledgeable about the product.
  • Communication options are available for all donor preferences, from good old-fashioned direct mail to email, text, and video. And all are easy to use!
  • Creating forms for surveys and other data capturing is very easy, as is construction of reports on donors and donations for management use.
  • Love the format options and drag-and-drop functionality -- including embedding videos -- for newsletters and email engagements.
  • Would love to be able to modify my dashboard to graph and chart the campaigns and designations I want to see. I don't understand the algorithms behind what is served up for display. For instance, would like to be able to separate members from donors on the dashboard.
  • Would like to see the donation refund process an online process.
  • When cloning a form, such as for a survey, would like to be able to change a question or field without having it affect prior forms.
I have used other similar donor management/communication products and have found that Network For Good offers the best of all functions.

I use it to streamline donor management and communication. The agency's previous database was outdated and restrictive, there was no easy way to view trends and lapses. The last person in charge did not believe in email, so there were no email addresses attached to donor records and no way to communicate with them other than snail mail. There was lots of wasted effort and paper, which no longer happens using Network for Good.
  • We imported the last six years of data and were able to reach out to people who hadn't been contacted in that amount of time (thank you, "Lapsed Donor" indication), reviving the relationship and receiving new donations.
  • It's so easy to dash off a quick personalized thank you to event participants when they buy through a NFG link -- we don't generally send individual thanks to people who purchase tickets since they don't always purchase through us, so it's nice to be able to do that easily when they do.
  • I'm a visual person so I appreciate the graphs and charts--they are gratifying!
  • I wish there was a field where I could enter a main contact person for an organization without that person having to already be an individual contact-- some of these organizations change responsible parties all the time
  • It would be nice to be able to merge campaigns. I had created one and entered some donations manually. Then I imported a bunch more and named it the same, assuming they would go into the existing campaign. But they did not, and I ended up with two campaigns of the same name, had to move them all manually and then delete the one I had emptied.
  • I'm not crazy about in-kind donations values being lumped into funds raised, since we don't actually realize the dollar value on many of those.
I love that donors can be categorized in more than one way. For instance, at my old job donors could be only one "type." It was a school and church, and I personally fit three different profiles: alumni, parishioner, and current school parent. But I could only be classified as ONE of those things. The agency where I now use NFG also has people that fit more than one profile, so it's nice to be able to categorize them in every way they fit.

As a non=profit, we use it to organize and document our non-cash and cash donors. We send each donor either a mailed or emailed thank you letter using this data base. We also use the email group within Network for Group to make all contributors aware of our services we deliver, upcoming activities and events.
  • Organized database with good details and prompts for complete files
  • Tabulates reports of donors daily and over time
  • Makes the organization more transparent to all stakeholders
  • Helps with lapsed donors
  • Reminds staff of fundraising deadlines
  • Individual contact listing being required before the company or business causes some business to be dropped if the individual leaves the business
  • when you have a donor who donated both as a business and as an individual sometimes one or the other does not come up in the listing when you search for an amount for the year
  • FaceBook donations being identified by at least who did the fundraiser, not the donors. I do a birthday fundraiser every year for Caring Carroll and there is no indication that it came from me. The money comes in but we do not know where it came from who held the fundraiser.
  • The fact that the FaceBook donations go into our Network for Good database before we even have the money is confusing.
We had been doing all our documentation of our contributors and donors using old school systems that really were not designed to keep track of money. Network for Good is definitely designed for that specific use. It was also affordable. We looked at other systems but we could not afford them.
It is user friendly. With the prompts throughout the entry, even a volunteer can do the data entry.

Network for Good is a great tool for any size nonprofit working on fundraising. We are a small nonprofit and were worried about using such a powerful product. We received great training and a coach to help us think through any issues. There is a beginning training that really helps you get onboarded with a live person, this resource alone was gold. Then they offer other training if you need them. The coach meets with you and helps you plan, organized, and problem-solve campaigns. Some accountability built in to help you achieve your goals. The program is easy to use and has a dashboard where you can see everything you might need on one screen. There is a database where you input your contacts, and if you have them in another form there are other people available to help you insert your contacts into the software. We used email, and texts and sent out a video with this program. We raised double what we raised last year online. We learned several things about fundraising, the software made us get organized and start plotting our next fundraising campaign.
  • You can create donor surveys to use
  • Tracking through clicks, conversion rates, location and many other ways to track donors
  • You can connect your campaign to google ads
  • Showing users how to download things from the database
  • Allowing mailing labels to be created from the database
Network for good is great for small or large nonprofits that want to fundraise.

However, if you all ready have a strategic fundraising database this might not be the ideal software for you.

As a donor management system, it has simplified reporting and makes donor engagement very simple.
  • NFG offers At-a-glance donor snapshots
  • easy reporting with NFG
  • ease of email eblasts
  • ease of multi-channel marketing
  • We'd like to add grantors into the system but exclude them where appropriate
  • do not like that ticket holders and sponsors are not treated as donors
  • Lapsed donors usually is accurate but double entry or donors creates confusion
Network for good's Jumpstart program was a great way for a small NPO to buy the software. Their coaching sessions are fabulous and we continue to use our fundraising coach!

I use Network for Good for fundraising, sending newsletters, and CRM management. I needed a centralized system that would allow me to start building and tracking donor information, such as contact information, amounts and frequency of donations, and who was actually seeing our emails. What I have discovered in just three months is that it is an incredible source of ideas for fundraising, layouts for newsletters & fundraising emails. They also have recommendations for using our followers to help us fundraise, they track everything about our donors that we could ever want to know, and best of all, they can send automatic thank you emails! This is important but often slips through the cracks with my busy schedule. As I use the platform, I discover more and more, but support is just a click or call away! The customer service team is friendly and fun and understands the non-profit world and its challenges.
I look forward to discovering more features as I continue to become familiar with the platform.
  • Offer templates for fundraising emails
  • Keeping donor history
  • Tracking over all donations
  • Tracking the effectiveness of different fundraising campaigns
  • Customer service
  • The only thing that I can think of is the price. For a small rural non-profit, the expense so far, outweighs the income.
Some of the biggest selling points for me were:
  • They downloaded my contacts into their system with a variety of categories at no extra charge
  • The templates and fundraising ideas
  • The ability to set up a variety of campaigns that I can run in various places; email, social media, live events
  • The analytics. I think they have thought of everything in this category!

Network for Good is our customer relations management system. We have graduated from Excel and are quite pleased. From Network for Good, we can send blast emails, newsletters, and fundraising campaigns. This is our first year working with Network for Good and we are excited about our continued partnership, especially as we start working on our strategic plan document and addressing identified gaps and celebrating victories as we work through the plan.
  • Improved Customer communication
  • Fund Raising Campaigns and Graphs
  • Data Entry tasks are valuable, especially at volunteer level
  • We now have a newsletter that we don't have to mail out.
  • Improved graphics for board meetings and committees
  • Importing and Exporting documents could be easier
  • Allow us to upload a newsletter to send out to customers via email
The onboarding process was great. Our team was able to work with Network for Good staff several times on ZOOM meetings, we were able to ask questions, we completed assignments, and we felt very well cared for. Even today, one year later, we know that we can call and reach out to Network for Good with a question or problem, and they will help us work through it. That, we feel, is priceless.
